We’re Rey and Gio, a couple brought together by God, kept together by love, and now stepping into the adventure of parenthood through adoption. Our story began 12 years ago when we met in college. According to Gio, it was love at first sight. With a mix of nerves and charm, he asked Rey for her number, and a sweet friendship quickly blossomed. In a clever move to spend more time together, Gio started a skee-ball team (yes, really!) and not only did the team win second place, but Rey also found herself falling for Gio’s kind heart and generous spirit.
Rey was born in Cuba and immigrated to Texas at a young age, and Gio, who is African-American and Chinese with Mexican roots, was raised in a warm, tight-knit family. Together, we’ve built a life that reflects the beauty of our cultures, our faith, and our deep love for community. Whether we’re hosting game nights with friends, traveling somewhere new, or just enjoying a quiet evening cooking together, we’re most at home when we’re surrounded by love and laughter.
Since the early days of dating, we’ve had a heart for adoption. That dream has only grown stronger through the years, and we are now joyfully preparing our hearts and home to welcome a child. We know that adoption is built on loss as much as it is on love, and our deepest hope is that you feel seen, supported, and cared for every step of the way. We desire to raise a child in a home where they are deeply loved, celebrated for who they are, and always reminded of the incredible strength and sacrifice that brought them into our lives. A story that includes you, always!
