It’s never too late to choose adoption, even after giving birth. There’s nothing to be ashamed of if you’ve brought your baby home and realized parenting is more than you can handle. Being the parent of a newborn is tough, especially with little or no support.
The caring Adoption Specialists at New Life Adoptions are happy to talk with you about the possibility of placing your child for adoption. Yes, it can be a hard decision, but it may be best for both you and your baby.
You Still Have Choices
As a potential birth mom, you have options and rights. There isn’t a time limit for planning an adoption. You control the process and timing.
Choices You Can Make
- There are many loving couples hoping to adopt. You have time to review profile books and choose the right couple for you and your baby.
- By selecting the adoptive parents (their lifestyle, their values, etc) you choose the future for your child that you want them to have.
- You can select the adoption plan that’s most comfortable for you. The type of relationship you wish to have with your child and their adoptive family is your choice
Choose from the following plans:
Open. You exchange information with the adoptive couple and communicate with them directly.
Semi-Open. You communicate with the adoptive family, but all contact is handled through New Life Adoptions.
Closed. Very few adoptions are completely closed today. With this plan, you and the adoptive couple have no contact, but the door for contact with the family would always remain open for you.
You Have Rights as a Birth Mother
- You pay nothing for adoption services.
- You have the option to select the adoptive family (if you choose to do so.)
- You can select the amount of contact you wish to have with the adoptive family.
- Your legal expenses are fully covered.
- You may receive coverage for other pregnancy-related and post-partum expenses, as determined by law.
- You have the option to receive lifetime counseling and support
- You have the right to change your mind at any time (until you sign legal papers).
